Dancers bring it all together like no other subject. The paintings are alive with motion and flying colors. I have studied all of Degas' works, both pastels and oils. I have had numerous photo shoots and shot over 30 dance recitals to harvest just the right one or two great shots. I always say "It's all about the lines", and dancers deliver. Their costumes excite my pallet, and leaps, bends, swishes and contortions bring the viewers onto the stage and into the painting. There are always dancer source shots in my painting bullpen but not enough time. I've tried.
