Artist Jack Keough - Contemporary Artist

Artist Jack Keough is an award winning and internationally acclaimed fine art painter, sculptor and writer currently living in Douglas, MA., with primary roots and education in Boston, Mass. He is a classically trained oil painter and sculptor with a BFA from Mass College of Art.
His expansive body of work is contemporary figurative realism, with strong classical references. His catalogue features a large selection of portraiture, including numerous artists in his ongoing 'Artist Friends' series. He primarily works from photographs as he is able to play with the intimacy of the inter personal space to the subject in the piece, He brings the viewer right where he wants you when cropping for the final composition.
His sculptures are mostly modern conceptual figurative works, in clay, wood, and found man-made objects.
He has had several one-man shows including his WORK SERIES PAINTINGS I-XV, which was a series to shine light on the efforts to raise the minimum wage in 2015. This show was exhibited on Boston's City Hall Plaza, and on the Mall in Washington DC in 2016.
Mr. Keough's writing is primarily contemporary poetry and short stories. A piece of which was included in a project that brought hundreds of premier artworks, encoded onto disk, that was delivered to the moon by NASA in the spring of 2024.
He has been internationally juried into the prestigious Florence Biennale in 2017 and 2019 in Florence, Italy. He has also competed in The Luxembourg Prize, and for The Bandito Residency in Tuscany, Italy. He boasts fans on every continent except Antarctica, although he says "Boston qualifies as a stand-in at least several times each winter."
